Beanie pattern for CROCHETING

THINGS YOU’LL NEED:

  1. PORTACRAFT Sundae Beanie Yarn
  2. 1 pair 4mm Crochet Hook
  3. Scissors, Yarn Needle, Tape Measure

SIZE:

To fit child sizes 2 (4-6-8-10) 

Gauge/Tension: 16 hdc (Half Double Crochet) and 10.5 rows = 10 cm.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Chain 2 at beginning of rounds does not count as hdc. 

Beginning at crown, chain 3 

1st round: 8 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 

2nd round: Chain 2. 2 hdc in each hdc around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 16 hdc. 

3rd round: Chain 2. *2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in next hdc. Repeat (rep) from * around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 24 hdc. row. 

4th round: Chain 2. *2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 2 hdc. Rep from * around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 32 hdc. 

5th round: Ch 2. *2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 3 hdc. Rep from * around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 40 hdc. 

6th round: Ch 2. *2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 4 hdc. Rep from * around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 48 hdc. 

7th round: Ch 2. *2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 5 hdc. Rep from * around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 56 hdc. 

8th round: Ch 2. *2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 6 hdc. Rep from * around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 64 hdc. 

Size 4 only: 9th round: Ch 2. *2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 15 hdc. Rep from * around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 68 hdc. 

Sizes 6, 8 and 10 only: 9th round: Ch 2. *2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 7 hdc. Rep from * around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 72 hdc. 

Size 8 only: 10th round: Ch 2. *2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 17 hdc. Rep from * around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 76 hdc. 

Size 10 only: 10th round: Ch 2. *2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 11 hdc. Rep from * around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 78 hdc. 

All sizes: Next round: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each hdc around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 64 (68-72-76-78) hdc. Rep last round until work from beg measures 18 (19-20.5-21.5-21.5) cm. 

Next round: Chain 1. 1 single crochet in each hdc around. Join with slip stitch to first single crochet. 

Next round: Ch 1. 1 single crochet in each single crochet around. Join with slip stitch to first single crochet. Rep last round 3 times more. Fasten off. Sew pompom to top of hat.
